Dear Students and Visitors,

Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of Sinop University will start taking students with 30 places as of 2019-2020 academic year.

In our high school, theoretical courses are conducted in 10 classrooms with various capacities. There are computers and projections in all the classrooms, and video and TV sets in the classrooms where foreign language courses are held. The course content is covered scientifically. This educational adventure, which started with the transfer of the Basic Principles of Gastronomy, includes the courses of Cooking Techniques, which are spread throughout the periods. National Cuisine and International Cuisines are transferred to our students by our faculty members who have a say in our courses. The Gastronomy and Culinary Practice courses offer every opportunity for a well-equipped education in the application kitchen in the school building. In addition, the 63-room Ahmet Muhip Dıranas Practice Hotel attached to the College is also being used.

The gastronomy department will take the student with the verbal score and the language of instruction is Turkish and 4 years. In order to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, the students must successfully complete all the compulsory and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) in the program and the GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In addition, in order to graduate from this department, students are required to have 60 working days of internship (workplace training) in enterprises operating in the field of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts.

Turkish culinary culture is highly diverse. Our main mission is to educate a wide range of culture and traditions and to transfer them to new generations, and to raise awareness of this complementary structure that constitutes our culinary culture in the Turkish geography.
